The ability to adapt and re-see is crucial

Right now, every museum Director and Manager are thinking about alternative ways to operate into an unknown future; difficult decisions without clear parameters, flexibility in the extreme, and challenging expectations not only from peers, the Board, and staff but of yourself! The pressure on museum managers is immense just now.

One of the few certainties at this time is - change. The ability to adapt and resee is crucial.

Early next year I hope to be running a series of (funded) coaching sessions for museum managers, supporting them with change through 2021.

See your challenge in new ways

Whether you need a new business model, to develop new assets, rethink visitors, do more with less or strike up new partnerships – you need support.

More than ever you need time to see situations and challenges in new ways, to rethink and broaden your view, and develop your and your teams’ effectiveness and adaptability so that you can design and develop the future.

Discoveries and Possibilities

All you are required to have is a commitment to your and your organization’s continued progress and development and openness to making changes and learning. Change is hard and so that commitment is vital.

The coaching sessions give you a high level of regard in what you are saying, doing, and feeling over a series of up to 6 sessions. With a Coach, you have someone whose only interest is you.

They do not judge you; they have no agenda except to support you to achieve what you need to achieve in your organization which means that you also develop your natural strengths, become more aware of what stops you and how to manage it or use it differently.

This helps you to see yourself, your situation and your landscape in new ways. This opens up discoveries and possibilities.

Fresh perspectives

Good managers seek out coaching particularly when they are facing a challenge, change, or when they have hit a stumbling block. A coach gives you dedicated space and time to rethink and review the issues you face, play out the relationships, potential impacts, and discover unseen influences. The Coach helps you to consider what you are not thinking about, interrogate your assumptions, investigate, and break down hindrances and see fresh perspectives.

Expand your landscape

We tend to see the world through the lens of our experience, knowledge, and personality; coaching helps to see more of the landscape and hence builds awareness to enable you to achieve what you need and want to.
